Five weeks into the 2026 NFL season, and the league is already serving up plot twists nobody saw coming. The San Francisco 49ers sit alone atop the power rankings at 5-0. The Chargers, Dolphins, and Titans are all still looking for their first win. And the biggest move of the year happened off the field, not on it.

From a walk-off 57-yard field goal in London to a Tie in the DMV, here is everything you need to know as Week 6 kicks off Thursday night in Denver.

The Blockbuster: Marvin Harrison Jr. Heads to Houston

In a move that sent shockwaves through the league, the Arizona Cardinals traded former top-five wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Houston Texans on Sunday — hours before Houston's dominant 26-3 win over Tennessee.

Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed the deal after the game: "You guys want to know, huh? Yes, we traded for Marvin Harrison."

Arizona receives a 2027 second-round pick, a 2027 sixth-rounder, and a 2027 seventh-round pick in return. The deal reunites Harrison Jr. with Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud, giving Houston a dynamic new weapon as it pushes through the AFC landscape.

Why it matters: Harrison Jr. had been sidelined since suffering a devastating knee injury (torn ACL, LCL, MCL, and meniscus damage) earlier in his rookie campaign. The Cardinals, now 1-4, opted to cash in rather than wait for his return. Houston adds elite receiver talent to an already explosive offense — and the NFL trade deadline (Nov. 4) just got interesting.

Power Rankings After Week 5: The Top 10 Shake-Up

NFL.com's Nick Shook released his Week 6 power rankings on Monday, and the movement is significant. The 49ers hold at No. 1, the Vikings surge into the top 10 at 5-0, and the Eagles and Saints are in free fall.

# Team Record Trend
1 San Francisco 49ers 5-0 —
2 Kansas City Chiefs 4-0 —
3 Seattle Seahawks 3-2 —
4 Baltimore Ravens 4-1 —
5 Jacksonville Jaguars 4-1 ▲ 1
6 Buffalo Bills 4-1 ▲ 1
7 Minnesota Vikings 5-0 ▲ 4
8 Denver Broncos 3-2 ▲ 3
9 Cincinnati Bengals 3-2 —
10 New England Patriots 3-2 ▲ 8

The biggest climber? The Patriots, who jump eight spots after a 45-17 demolition of Las Vegas. Drake Maye has six touchdowns against zero interceptions over the last six quarters — a world away from the early-season slump that had Foxborough panicking.

At the bottom, the Philadelphia Eagles (2-3) and New Orleans Saints (1-4) are plummeting. The Eagles lost their third straight in brutal fashion in London. The Saints mustered under 150 total yards against Minnesota and look nowhere near ready to contend in the NFC South.

Week 5: What We Learned

Week 5 featured road wins across the league, including a dramatic NFC West showdown in Seattle.

The London Thriller: Jaguars 19, Eagles 17

What a game. A record crowd of 61,322 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium witnessed absolute chaos: an opening kickoff return TD called back, two players ejected for fighting, an emergency defensive tackle playing long snapper after Ross Matiscik's injury, and a blown extra point. Philadelphia took a 17-16 lead with eight seconds left on a Jake Elliott field goal — but the ensuing kickoff was a line drive to the 8-yard line instead of a touchback. Ameer Abdullah returned it to the Eagles' 39 with one second left, and Cam Little drilled a 57-yard walk-off field goal. The Eagles' nightmare month continues.

NFC West Showdown: 49ers 32, Seahawks 29

San Francisco escaped Seattle with its perfect record intact, thanks to a dominant defensive performance. Cornerback Renardo Green picked off Sam Darnold twice, and the Niners recorded five sacks even without Nick Bosa. The Seahawks' final drive stalled inches short of a first down in the closing minute. It was San Francisco's fifth straight regular-season win in Seattle — a remarkable road run in a bitter division rivalry.

Other Key Results

Patriots 45, Raiders 17 — New England's offense erupted for 536 yards. Drake Maye accounted for five touchdowns.

Ravens 30, Falcons 23 (OT) — Baltimore overcame Michael Penix Jr.'s ribs injury and a late Falcons lead to win on Sunday Night Football.

Giants 27, Commanders 27 (OT) — The Giants overcame a two-touchdown fourth-quarter deficit, then fumbled away the win in overtime. A fittingly chaotic tie.

Packers 31, Bears 7 — Jordan Love threw for 367 yards and two TDs to Christian Watson. Chicago's secondary was torched all afternoon.

Week 6 Preview: What to Watch

The Week 6 slate kicks off Thursday night with the Seahawks traveling to Denver to face the Broncos — a matchup of two 3-2 teams fighting for AFC West/NFC West positioning. Seattle is favored by a field goal on the road.

Thursday Seahawks @ Broncos Seattle favored by 2.5
Sunday Cowboys @ Packers Dallas bouncing back vs. surging Green Bay
Sunday Panthers @ Eagles Philadelphia must stop the tailspin
Sunday Saints @ Giants New Orleans desperate for a win
Sunday Jets @ Patriots AFC East showdown in Foxborough

The Vikings are on bye, which means the Chiefs (4-0) have a chance to move into sole possession of the best record in the AFC when they return. Meanwhile, eight teams that missed the postseason in 2025 already hold winning records — the parity this year is as real as it gets.

Storyline to watch: The Packers added Micah Parsons to an already-rising defense, and Jordan Love just had his breakout game of the year. Green Bay could be the team no one wants to see in January. And with the trade deadline approaching on November 4, more deals are surely on the way.
